# Set up Contracko MCP

Connect this AI client to Contracko's hosted MCP server and install its skills bundle.

Endpoint: `https://app.contracko.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP).

## Account and sign-in

A Contracko account is required. The user signs in or starts the 7-day free trial in the browser opened by OAuth, chooses the workspace, and approves access.

Reuse an existing Contracko connection. Run applicable installation commands yourself; browser sign-in stays with the user.

For API keys and troubleshooting, see https://contracko.com/docs/mcp-server.

## Register the MCP server

Use the section for this client. Use native OAuth without an Authorization header.

### Claude (web, desktop, mobile, Cowork)

Give the user https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/contracko. They choose **Connect to Claude** and sign in. The directory connector works on every plan, including Free; a Team or Enterprise Owner must enable it first. It also works on mobile once connected on web or desktop.

On Pro and above, the user can instead install the **Contracko** plugin under **Customize, Plugins**, then connect from its **Connectors** tab. Keep only one connector: remove an older custom Contracko connector if using the directory listing.

### Claude Code

Run `claude mcp list` first. Reuse any Contracko entry; a connector added in Claude is available when signed in with a Claude account. If keeping an existing manual entry, install only the skills below.

Otherwise install the plugin, which also registers the server. Inside Claude Code:

```
/plugin marketplace add https://github.com/contracko/contracko-skills.git
/plugin install contracko@contracko
```

Or from a shell:

```
claude plugin marketplace add https://github.com/contracko/contracko-skills.git && claude plugin install contracko@contracko
```

The user then runs `/mcp` and signs in. Never pair the plugin with `claude mcp add`.

Fallback only for Claude Code signed in with an Anthropic API key, without the plugin, and only when `claude mcp list` shows no Contracko entry:

```
claude mcp add --transport http contracko https://app.contracko.com/mcp
```

The user then runs `/mcp` and signs in to Contracko with OAuth.

### Codex

```
codex mcp add contracko --url https://app.contracko.com/mcp
codex mcp login contracko
```

### Cursor

Add under `"mcpServers"` in `.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
"contracko": { "url": "https://app.contracko.com/mcp" }
```

### ChatGPT

The user registers the app. On Business and Enterprise/Edu, open **Settings → Security and login**, enable **Developer mode**, add an app with `https://app.contracko.com/mcp`, and sign in with OAuth. An admin is needed to publish it to the whole workspace under **Workspace settings → Apps**. Pro developer mode is limited to read and fetch.

### Gemini CLI

Add under `"mcpServers"` in `~/.gemini/settings.json`, then sign in through the client's browser flow:

```json
"contracko": { "httpUrl": "https://app.contracko.com/mcp" }
```

### GitHub Copilot in VS Code

Add under `"servers"` (not `"mcpServers"`) in `.vscode/mcp.json`:

```json
"contracko": { "type": "http", "url": "https://app.contracko.com/mcp" }
```

### Grok (grok.com)

The user opens https://grok.com/connectors, adds `https://app.contracko.com/mcp`, and signs in.

### OpenClaw

If there is no existing `contracko` entry, run:

```
openclaw mcp set contracko '{"url":"https://app.contracko.com/mcp","transport":"streamable-http"}'
openclaw mcp configure contracko --auth oauth
openclaw mcp login contracko
```

### Hermes

If there is no existing `mcp_servers.contracko` entry, add this to `~/.hermes/config.yaml`:

```yaml
mcp_servers:
  contracko:
    url: "https://app.contracko.com/mcp"
    auth: oauth
```

Run `hermes mcp login contracko`, then reload MCP or restart Hermes.

### OpenCode

Add under `"mcp"` in `~/.config/opencode/opencode.jsonc`, then run `opencode mcp auth contracko`:

```json
"contracko": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://app.contracko.com/mcp", "enabled": true, "oauth": {} }
```

### Windsurf

Add under `"mcpServers"` in `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json` (`serverUrl`, not `url`):

```json
"contracko": { "serverUrl": "https://app.contracko.com/mcp" }
```

### Generic MCP client

Add `https://app.contracko.com/mcp` as a remote Streamable HTTP server in the client's MCP settings and complete its native browser sign-in.

## Install the skills bundle

Source: https://github.com/contracko/contracko-skills.

- Claude apps: the plugin includes the four skills; without it, download the four skill ZIPs from https://github.com/contracko/contracko-skills/releases/latest and upload them under **Customize, Skills**.
- Claude Code: skip this step if the plugin is installed; otherwise use the command below.
- ChatGPT: a workspace admin opens **Admin Console → Plugins → Add → Import marketplace** and enters `https://github.com/contracko/contracko-skills` in **Source**.
- OpenClaw: extract the OpenClaw release bundle and run `openclaw plugins install ./contracko-openclaw`; enable it and restart the Gateway if prompted.
- Hermes: extract the Hermes release bundle and run `hermes plugins install ./contracko-hermes --no-enable`; enable the `contracko` package.
- Other clients with a shell: run the command below. Otherwise use the client's supported skill installer with the source repository.

```
npx -y skills@latest add contracko/contracko-skills --skill '*' --yes --global
```

## Verify and report

After browser authentication, refresh tool discovery and make one read-only call: `auth_validate`. Report connected only when it confirms authentication to the selected workspace. Report the workspace name and whether the skills are installed.
